MMA Branson Beat Down a Huge Success at the Mansion Theater

Branson is well known for it's family atmosphere, country music shows, outlet malls, and amusement parks. Mixed Martial Arts fighting events has never been associated with Branson before....... Until now. On January 15, the Mansion Theater decided to step outside of the traditional box and held the Branson Beatdown inside the theater right on the stage.

The Branson Beatdown was planned with short notice, but it still was a huge success despite limited advertising. Approximately 1,200 people came to watch the MMA fights and root on their favorite fighters.  Tickets sold for $35.00, $25.00, and $10.00, depending on how close to the stage you wanted to sit. There really are not bad seats in the Mansion Theater so you really can't go wrong.

The Mansion theater holds 3,300 people so there is definitely room for even larger events. The Mansion is planning on holding more MMA, and UFC fights at the theater with more of an effort being made on advertising the event.  It has also been rumored that they are considering holding some boxing events inside the theater.

Bringing in a new genre to Branson is a great idea, and the Branson Beat Down proved that MMA fights can thrive and be beneficial to the area.  In a bad economy, with struggling tourist industry in Branson, more events like these are bound to help out Branson's local economy.

Many will remember that the Mansion made a controversial decision last year to hold a Nelly concert in Branson, after the Grand Palace event fell through. The show went off without a hitch and the show was sold out.  Branson is proving that they can be more than just country music shows, and amusement parks.

Nearly 10 million people visit Branson, Missouri each tourist season, and if they continue expanding their horizons and bringing in different music genres, and attractions that attract younger visitors, they will continue thriving as one of the top tourist destinations in the United States.
